physiotherapy

Sometimes a little something extra is required to get our patients better.
the following is a list of other services we provide.

Electric Muscle Stem (EMS)

This induces tiny amounts of electrical impulses into the tissues in the vicinity of the injury. Most patients find EMS to be extremely beneficial and describe the treatment as a tingling or massaging. Benefits of EMS include reduces painful symptoms, decreases local swelling, promotes muscle tone, restores normal movements, releases the body's natural pain killers, accelerates the healing process.

therapeutic ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is applied using a round-headed wand or probe that is put in direct contact with the patient's skin. Ultrasound increases tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue breakdown.

cold laser therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is known for accelerated injury healing and pain relief in many conditions. A laser light is applied over the area to be treated. Patients normally do not feel the laser on their skin.

cupping

Cupping is a unique therapy where cups are used to create a gentle vacuum on the skin and tops layers of the muscles. Dr. Brittani uses orthopedic cupping where oil is applied to the skin and the cups are glided along the area as they lift away muscle tension. Our patients say it feels like a massage. Cupping soothes angry muscles and creates a feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation that can last for several days. It is a sort of reverse massage technique, in which cups pull, rather than push on the muscles. Cupping can help relieve pain, increase blood flow in the targeted area and relax the muscles.

oxygen

Regular air contains only about 21% oxygen. While using our oxygen concentrator you are able to receive up to 95% pure oxygen. The oxygen is delivered to you through a nasal cannula, a thin tube that runs from the device to your face, giving you purified oxygen through two open prongs below your nostrils. An oxygen concentrator isn't the same as an oxygen tank, which delivers liquid or gas oxygen. Instead, the concentrator is a machine that takes in air, purifies it and then distributes the newly formed air. Before it goes into the concentrator, air is made up of about 80% nitrogen. An oxygen concentrator purifies that air then it comes out as 90-95% pure oxygen delivered to the patient. Oxygen is not just for unhealthy people. Anyone wanting to enhance their own wellness can benefit from oxygen. Oxygen gives the body the ability to rebuild itself, detoxify blood and strengthen the immune system.

moist heat

Moist heat is often applied during electric muscle stimulation. Moist heat helps increase circulation, relaxes muscle tension, reduces joint stiffness, and prepares tissues for rehabilitation.

cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is often applied during electric muscle stimulation in acute injuries. Cryotherapy is a term that describes the application of ice compresses to reduce the temperature of tissues directly on or below the surface of the skin. Surface cooling constricts blood vessels, reduces inflammation, numbs painful areas, and helps relax muscle spasms.

roller table

Roller table is a way of inducing passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints, increasing mobility. The patient lies face-up on a bench table which has roller-type cams beneath its surface. These rollers can slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching spinal joints.

Spinal Traction

Spinal traction is an intermittent pulling force applied to the spine to gradually stretch the spine. Lumbar traction can be used in conjunction with other treatments to relieve chronic lower back pain, especially sciatica. Lumbar or cervical traction can relieve pressure on compressed nerves, help muscles relax and reduce muscle spasms. Traction increases the space between vertebrae - reducing pressure on intervertebral discs and nerve root.
